Hi, I am a homebrewer and I believe that there are 2 reasons to make homebrew, firstly as a hobby or secondly as a cost saving, I cannot afford to go to the pub every night and with 2 children do not want to do so, therefore, I make homebrew, so after a day at work at least I can still have a pint or two at a reasonable cost at home.
When I buy homebrew supplies I look on the internet and search for the most competitive prices, this usually involves a minimum spend of between £50 and £100 to save on carriage charges (homebrew kits are heavy!).
One of my purchases was with easybrew.co.uk, I found their prices competitive and I placed an order online paying by debit card.
Two days later I received a message saying that they did not have sufficient stock but new stock was due and delivery would be within two weeks.
Three weeks later I still had no delivery so I phoned them, this was a waste of time, the phone is either engaged (other people phoning) or it goes unanswered, so I emailed them numerous times and still got no reply.
I then searched the internet and found out that lots of other people are having the same problem and this has gone on for months and has not been stopped by Trading Standards or anyone else.
I eventually went to visit the shop (which looks empty!) and received a full refund on my debit card.
Two days later:- THEY TOOK MY MONEY AGAIN!
Well I phoned and emailed (no response) and advised my bank that they had taken money without authorisation (my bank said that because I had once authorised them to take money this was not in their opinion fraudulant it was probably a just a mistake).
Finally I sat at my PC and using search engines researched every piece of information I could on Easybrew and I was shocked at how easy it was to uncover everything about them.
I am hoping that with my actions (my money was refunded instantly) that they will have a good think about how they treat their customers.
I am now checking regularly to see if anyone posts articles about problems and if they do continue then I will start to point people in the right direction to getting a quick response from Easybrew.
